Arenac County Scrapbook Collection Indexes

Because so many of these compilations cover non-contiguous years, please carefully check the list to see if a year you are seeking is combined with those you wouldn’t necessarily expect. These scrapbooks were someone’s collection of family memories so, while their clipping organization made sense to them, but it may not make sense to others. Some of the scrapbooks are in delicate condition so are not on the shelves and must be asked for.

Entries are separated by year ranges (example: 1901-1950). When year ranges overlap, it’s listed by the earliest year. Some entries appear in more than one section because of year overlap. For example,”Misc 1800s-1960s Obituaries” appears in both the 1800-1950 and the 1951-2000 sections. The scrapbooks are listed in each section, again, by the earliest year even if that year doesn’t “fit” in the section.

“Misc Yrs” are usually not indicated in the scrapbook title but may be explained on the index table page. Try the search box, entering Surname, Given.
